So, I'm looking for new toy ideas for my boys to keep them from getting bored. Do you guys have any suggestions for things I can use around the house for them to play with? They have toiletpaper rolls, small boxes, their hammocks, bottlecaps, a few plastic balls with bells in them hanging from the cage and a Pringles can xD Is there anything else you can suggest?

How about an, um, u-uh *stutter stutter* a, um, apple or something hanging from the ceiling? I like in the UK, so I can buy this book about rat food and the rat's diet, with some things which you can bake in it. I usually make large cookie things with holes in, so I can hang it from the top middle of the cage so they have to climb to get it and eat it. (Hang it from a metal chain, though! =P)

That's actually a really good idea. I'll have to pick up some zipties or steal them from my grandparents xD
The wood chews I have for them have holes to hang them, but they don't seem to be using the wood chews at all :/

My girls love...
*Strips of paper towles that hang down from the bars. They pull them down, shred them up, and fluff up the inside of their pink igloo with them.
*Foil cat toys. They come in bright colors, crinkle, are easy to carry, and they cost about $0.25 each at any pet store.
*Fill a small toilet paper tube with a treat (I do pumpkin or sunflower seeds) and crimp the ends closed. They'll rip 'em apart like a pinata to get at the goodies.
*Old sweatshirts, pj pants, or sweat pants. Cut off the bottom of a 2 liter pop bottle into a ring. Cut off the arm or leg of the clothing, the end that you cut, put your plastic ring in there and curl the fabric around it. With a sewing machine, sew the ring in and tada! You have a cozy tunnle. The plastic ring end provides easy access and the ends where your hand or foot would come out makes a nice fun squeeze. You could eaven hang them from the cage for tube hammocks.
*My girls love pea or lima bean fishing.
*I take platic spoons and scoop out some baby food on them (my girls love peas and sweet potatos). I then freeze them for yummy popcicles!

I love it 'cause I hate to throw things out when they could be used to so much more! When I found this I was all over it. I was able to get rid of my old stuff but still use as much of it as possible.
You could also toss the strings from your hoodies in there for tug of war ropes or use them to hang treats with.
