I have a Midwest cage that I totally love! It makes cleaning a breeze and the girls easy access. I cover the shelves with fleece for easy clean up and to make the floor comfy. But the only problem I’m having is Fable pulls up the fleece in the corners and burrows under the fleece. I wouldn’t mind this if she didn’t pee and poop under there and hide food (which sits in her pee). I’ve tried to hold the fleece down with binder clips, but she still manages to pull it up, and now Dolly is doing the same. So I was wondering if I maybe sprayed the edges with bitter apple that she might kick the habit. What do you guys think? Is it safe for them? Is there something else I could try? I use tobassco on my cats and dogs when they chew cords as babies and they learn quick, but I think that is a little extream for rats.
